Workday Enterprise and Solutions Team (WEST) governance recently approved design strategies to guide developing and implementing enterprise-wide system solutions. These strategies will aid teams in developing solutions in both administrative business processes and technical design.
The newly approved design strategies are:
- Develop solutions that establish or maintain standardization in administrative business processes and technical designs.
- Strive for solutions that do not add additional complexity into our business processes and technical systems. Simplify further when possible. Focus on the following:
- Establish “Just enough complexity”
- Maintain flexibility where it doesn’t increase complexity
- Consider the complete end-to-end business process
- Highlight where added complexity will drive additional cost and weigh against the potential benefit
